The traditional
Salone del Mobile this year is even more eagerly awaited than in previous years: this is because
Euroluce , the event dedicated to lighting design, is back in the halls of the Fiera Milano district in Rho after a four-year suspension. Until
April 23 , the venue is filled with the best brands in the sector, now on a single exhibition level – with the exhibitors in the upper halls (8-12, 16-20) relocated lower down to simplify, improve and increase the pleasure of the visiting experience.

In total, the 2023 events bring together
1,962 exhibitors , including more than 550 young talents under the age of 35 and 28 design schools. The Salone creates different worlds in its pavilions: the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, the International Exhibition of Furnishing Accessories, Workplace3.0, S.Project, Euroluce and SaloneSatellite.

Located between pavilions 9-11 and 13-15, Euroluce received significant investment this year. The event, which takes place every two years (but whose last edition was in 2019), features a
revolutionary layout that seeks proximity to major historical monuments in Italy, while at the same time being organized in an irregular, geometrically polygonal, fluid and free ring – a form that aims to reimagine the event as a "
city of light ". The project was conceived by the
Lombardini22 studio.

The aim of Euroluce’s new layout is to
optimize and
facilitate the use of exhibition spaces . The new format also facilitates interdisciplinary experiences of cultural content, ranging from architecture to art – including exhibitions, lectures,
workshops and installations – curated by
Beppe Finessi , alongside a series of young curators, as well as special guests, including leading contemporary artists.

In addition to the companies’ stands, the biennale hosts a series of cultural moments dubbed ‘
Constellations ’, where works by creatives such as
Sarah Illenberger and
Patrick Tuttofuoco are being presented, displayed in structures designed by
Formafantasma .
Modular pavilions made of paper and wood (with minimal environmental impact, the pavilions can be reused and recycled after the event) characterize Euroluce with the aim of promoting moments of pause and relaxation within the fair. Inside Euroluce there will also be '
Aurore ', a space designed by Formafantasma to host a
talk program, curated by
Annalisa Rosso .
