The refined brand Louis Vuitton brought to
Milan Design Week not a new collection, but rather a complement to one already launched in 2012. The
Objets Nomades line, with 25 items, is inspired by travel and
is based on the love for the beauty of materials. fine, in the possibility of carefully balanced shapes and proportions, in the complex and meticulous craftsmanship, and in the attention to detail. (Monica Ferreri / CASACOR)
"Our creations do not represent any specific journey, in a literary sense. The pieces give an interpretation of what it is to travel, an idea of passing from one place to another. Our Shelves, as well as the Chair and the Concertina Table, are foldable objects , easily combinable, made from an unconventional material for its type of technology - leather", says Raw Edges, one of the designers who signs pieces for the collection. Some of the pieces had been launched during other
Milan design weeks, and in this 2017 edition the brand presented 10 more items to the public. They were designed by renowned professionals in the segment:
Atelier Oï, Maarten Baas, Barber and Osgerby, the Campana brothers , Damien Langlois-Meurinne, Nendo, Gwenaël Nicolas, Raw Edges, Patricia Urquiola, Marcel Wanders and, most recently, India Mahdavi and Tokujin Yoshioka. (Monica Ferreri / CASACOR)
The collection features
flexible and modular design pieces, including leather benches, hanging armchairs, exquisitely crafted folding chairs, designer tables and other unique objects. All of this has been showcased in the incredible balcony rooms of Palazzo Bocconi, which makes a perfect background for objects. (Monica Ferreri / CASACOR)
"Today's society is inherently nomadic. Globalization has allowed more and more people to travel around the world, one day in Brazil, the next in Milan: this is our luxury. I love to travel, just as I enjoy pleasure of returning home again, enjoying more and more what I had temporarily left behind", explains Humberto Campana.
