From May 28 to June 1, the covered tennis court at the Mercado Livre Arena Pacaembu hosts another edition of MADE – Market, Art, Design. With the theme "Substrate: from idea to matter", the event offers an immersion into the creative process of artists and designers, highlighting the behind-the-scenes of creation, from initial research to the materialization of objects. Designed by Bruno Simões, who also curates the event alongside Waldick Jatobá, the scenography is made up of 100 recycled MDF panels, repurposed from the events industry in partnership with the company Virô. The panels form screens that uniquely and sustainably separate the stands, materializing the concept of the edition even in the projects. MADE 2025 brings together 50 Brazilian studios and designers, blending established names and new talents. Carol Gay, Murilo Weitz, Rahyja Afrange, and Zanini de Zanine – returning to the event almost ten years later – are among the veteran highlights. The new generation is represented by Antonio Pulquério, Curiosa, DUA.dsg, Estúdio GEO, Marcus Camargo, among others. "We are aware of our responsibility to strengthen the culture of authorship and contemporary design, while we commit to bringing freshness to this movement," says Bruno Simões. The program also includes unprecedented exhibitions, such as RURAQ, featuring mirrors developed by 20 students from the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC), created during a workshop in Rio de Janeiro. Another highlight is the participation of ADEPRO (Association of Product Designers of the Federal District), which will take over the grandstands with original pieces developed by young talents from Brasília. The MADE program includes roundtable discussions, guided tours, and educational activities. During the five days of the event, the designers will remain at their stands to interact with the public, collectors, professionals, and opinion makers. As in the previous three years, MADE – Market, Art, Design takes place alongside ArPa, a contemporary art fair that, since its first edition in 2022, has been consolidating itself as one of the most relevant events in the national and Latin American circuits.
