The
London Design Festival debuted its
21st edition last Saturday (16), transforming the iconic capital of England into a hub of global design.
Created in
2003 , the London Design Festival was launched by
Sir John Sorrell CBE and Ben Evans CBE . The idea was to create an annual event that would showcase the city's creativity and delight visitors with world-class design.
“The London Design Festival is a fantastic event that brings together designers from around the world and demonstrates the capital’s position as a
powerhouse for the creative industries . London is renowned for its creativity and continues to attract the best companies and talent from around the world,” said Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London.
One standout exhibit is at the famous
St. Stephen Walbrook Church , dubbed the “Halo.” Acclaimed artist
Henry Moore has created a
pendulum suspended in the center of the church , which traces a path for visitors to the altar.
Another exhibition that is surprising during the London Design Festival has a meticulous curation that chose
more than 50 designers to display collectible pieces that convey elegance and innovation.
Different materials, from metal, glass and even wood and fabric were explored to create surprising compositions. The London Design Festival will run until September 24. To discover spaces and works,
