French fashion brand
Jacquemus is expanding its creative portfolio into
home decor! In collaboration with Italian furniture company
Extexta , the brand presents a line of furniture, decor and accessories that reference architect
Gae Aulenti 's
iconic chair collection , “Locus Solus”.
Inspired by modern pieces from the mid-20th century, and the
pastel color palette with which the architect worked, the new Jacquemus collection has a
charming vintage touch . With colors inspired by the
Italian summer , the varied seating options are adorned with yellow stripes, including sun loungers and beach chairs. The leather pieces, like the cutlery and vases, come in an equally soft palette of
pink, orange, blue and
green .
"I have always dreamed of developing a line of furniture. I am a big fan of designer chairs and have been collecting vintage
Gae Aulenti chairs for many years, ever since I saw them in Jacques Deray's film 'La Piscine'", says
Simon Porte Jacquemus .
One of the highlights of this collection is also the
photo shoot that was carried out at the iconic
Casa das Canoas residence, in São Conrado, Rio de Janeiro – a house that was designed by and for the architect
Oscar Niemeyer .
