The Mirante do Vale is a building that was built in 1966, designed by Waldomiro Zarzur and Aron Kogan and is located in the Anhangabaú Valley, downtown São Paulo. The building had been abandoned for three decades, but now its roof has been transformed into a large hall with a bar, in the covered area, and an outdoor dance floor, with a wide view of the city for the temporary project
Heineken up on the Roof. The set design and furniture were designed by
Estudio Guto Requena . The "Mirante" furniture collection was designed for the event and was inspired by the building itself and its modernist architecture. MDF panels highlight the concrete lines of the space and serve as a bar and decorative item.
In addition, Guto Requena is responsible for the interactive installation
Sensitive Star , a large star located on the Mirante helipad that reacts to people's movements through sensors, changing color and emitting sounds. For the architect, the star "blends into a soundscape, with the collection of buildings in the surroundings, such as street fairs, traffic, the city market and the São Bento Monastery".
