A destination known for its cold temperatures,
Campos do Jordão will host a new urban festival from November 1st to 4th: the
Campos do Jordão Design Festival , which combines the best of the city's tourism potential with its architectural, artistic and cultural wealth. During the four days of the event, guided tours of architectural, historical and scenic points of the city are held, as well as
talk shows, design exhibitions, gastronomic experiences, soirees and
jam sessions . The festival is the brainchild of curator, visual artist and communications entrepreneur Carmem Alvim.
The festival hubs
“For better understanding,
the city was divided into hubs , considering the potential of each area . For example, the Alto da Boa Vista Hub is the stage for activities related to art and culture,” explains Carmem. Part of the
hub ’s program is a visit to the Chapel of São Pedro Apóstolo, designed by
Paulo Mendes da Rocha and located in the Boa Vista Palace, the official winter residence of the Government of São Paulo, with works by Tarsila do Amaral, Anita Malfatti, Cândido Portinari, Di Cavalcanti, Victor Brecheret, Alfredo Volpi, among others. The
hub also offers a guided tour of the Cláudio Santoro Auditorium, the stage for the most important classical music festival in Latin America, and the open-air exhibition at the Felícia Leirner Museum.

The Capivari HUB features illustrious names in design and architecture who come up to the mountains to participate in the festival, such as the talk with the Tryptique architecture firm at the Quebra Noz hotel and the presentation on the French design fair Maison et Objet by journalist Marcelo Lima. Also noteworthy is the
talk with architect Pedro Lira, creator of the Capivari Park Urban Project.
