Edward van Vliet signs outdoor furniture collection with Brazilian brand

With over 25 years of professional experience, the cosmopolitan Dutch designer Edward van Vliet arrives in Brazil to sign his first luxury outdoor furniture collaboration with a Brazilian brand, Modalle . Fascinated by an inexhaustible source of cultural and natural varieties , the designer created unique combinations of colors, materials and shapes for this collection, as well as relying on emotional design to make people feel at ease, inspired and invigorated in the space.

“ Colors and emotions are, for me, a very important topic when creating a design. When you design an environment, people need to be attracted to it, so emotions cannot be forgotten,” says Edward in an exclusive interview with CASACOR . In all of his creations throughout his career, the designer seeks to apply nine design keys that he has developed throughout his career. These include the creation of sophisticated aesthetic and sensory patterns, inspired by the genius of mathematical principles and repetition, and even nature itself as inspiration.

Laminam is the result of wet grinding 100% natural compounds – feldspar, clay and quartz – and can be made available in different thicknesses, textures, colors and patterns. This versatile material is used on the tabletops of the new line, whose pieces are true sculptures with flowing shapes and high design content, with strong artisanal references.

“Modalle is very strong in uniqueness , in exploring the world around us. There are many things out there that, when you look at them, are practically the same. I believe that you have to stand out , people have to recognize you, that’s why uniqueness is so important”, argues the designer. The materials used in this new Edward van Vliet + Modalle collab, such as aluminum, are 100% recyclable , and leftovers are collected by the brand's suppliers and used in other productions, with zero waste.
