DW! Rio: 2nd edition brings together great designers and architects at CasaShopping

Zanini de Zanine, Dexcolados, Guto Requena, Thiago Bernardes, Miguel Pinto Guimarães, Guilherme Wentz, Mauricio Arruda, Nada se Leva, Studio Sette7, Ricardo Van Steen are some of the many designers and architects presenting design pieces and participating in the talks of the second edition of DW! Design Week Rio at CasaShopping, which will take place from June 10 to 15. This time, the theme of the event will be "Connected Landscapes: Creativity and Technology Shaping Rio Design". Considered the largest urban design festival in Latin America, DW! has occupied the streets of São Paulo since 2012 and is exclusively setting up in CasaShopping for its second carioca edition, offering around 60 activities spread across 70,000 m² of the shopping center. There will be various talks about architecture, design, and urbanism, exhibitions, art installations, furniture launches, products, and coverings.

"Rio de Janeiro is a city where the landscape is not just a backdrop but a driving force for design, architecture, and innovation. In this theme, we explore how contemporary design can connect with the unique geography of the city between the sea, the mountain, and creative urbanization. How can interiors engage with the exuberant natural light of Rio? How can public and private projects incorporate technology without losing the organicity of the tropical projects?" explains Lauro Andrade, founder and CEO of DW!.

DW! Talks Schedule

The schedule also includes a series of daily lectures, from June 10 to 14, which will take place in the auditorium of CasaShopping from 11 AM to 1 PM. The opening theme of the DW! Talks on June 10 will be Art, Design, and Architecture, featuring visual artist Maria Lynch, curator Elisangela Valadares, and designers Pedro Galaso, Philipe Fonseca, and Thiago José de Barros from the Dexcolados movement. On June 11, the topic "Real Estate Development, Architecture, and Landscape Design" will be discussed by Alexandre Feu and Alexandre Veiga. On June 12, designer Zanini de Zanine will speak about "The Manual Knowledge in Contemporary Design"; on June 13, architect Guto Requena will discuss "Architecture, Design, Empathy, and New Technologies: Directions towards Decolonial Futures"; and to close the schedule, Isabel Sabadí, Executive Director of the District 22@Network Barcelona, will talk about the successful experience that transformed the Poblenou neighborhood, once a degraded industrial area, into a district of innovation. 06/10 - Art, Design, and Architecture	Visual artist Maria Lynch and her curator Elisangela Valadares, responsible for the work Spatial Disjunction, will discuss the theme Art, Design, and Architecture with designers Pedro Galaso, Philipe Fonseca, and Thiago José de Barros, who created the exhibit ⁠Genesis Tectonic for DW!.
06/11 - Real Estate Development, Architecture, and Landscape Design	Alexandre Feu from Feu Architecture, and Alexandre Veiga, president of the Patrimar Engenharia Group, will talk about the case of the Olympic Golf Complex, which is soon to receive a new development signed by Armani Casa.
06/12 - Design and Interiors	Zanini de Zanine: The Manual Knowledge in Contemporary Design. The talk will be mediated by journalist Joana Dale from 11 AM to 1 PM.
06/13 - Architecture	Guto Requena: Architecture, design, empathy, and new technologies: directions for decolonial futures.
06/14 - Design and Implementation of Creative and Innovation Districts	Isabel Sabadí, Executive Director of the District 22@Network Barcelona, will talk about the successful experience that transformed the Poblenou neighborhood, once a degraded industrial area, into a district of innovation.
