The 11th edition of São Paulo Design Week, Design Weekend , will take place between September 4th and 11th, 2022 , in the capital of São Paulo. The DW! festival aims to show how much design and essential in people's daily lives . This importance is presented in products and services for homes, workplaces and entertainment, giving great emphasis to the strength of designers and their original creations "made in Brazil". One of the new features of this 2022 edition is that the events will have different natures – whether in-person, exclusively digital or hybrid –, as well as different types – therefore, the program ranges from exhibitions, installations to lectures and tours , among others.

DW!'s activities will be spread across design districts and hubs in the capital of São Paulo. Stores, museums, educational institutions, shopping malls, squares, art galleries, exhibition halls and other locations will host the events. One of the tips from event organizers is to create a personalized agenda with favorite events, exhibitors, products and services that you most want to visit – this way, you can organize yourself in relation to dates and even create an itinerary around the city so you don't miss anything. So, below, we have separated the highlights of this edition of DW! that you cannot miss.

For DW! 2022, by Kamy gives space to the new and the different to unite the brand's textile art with the skill, creativity and detachment of the young design talents who will guide the exhibition. The brand challenged students from important colleges , free of charge and voluntarily, to develop rugs in a new authorial experience , encouraging them to express themselves without restrictions.

The result is the 'DivergenteZ' project: the new generation of rugs by Kamy, which relates textile art to a more fun, cheerful, colorful and expressive creative style, taking graffiti, games and comics as references. , bringing to the carpets colors, shapes, liveliness and, why not, the humor of a generation that challenges everything we have learned and understood as 'right' and 'definitive' for centuries. Guto Requena Studio


Estudio Guto Requena opens its creative hub, a historic mansion in downtown São Paulo, for the first time to the public and exhibits projects and works developed in research at Juntxs.Lab, its laboratory for studies in empathy, design and technology. . The Studio will offer guided tours , by appointment, on September 8th , during the DW! 22 program.

The works on display investigate the various biofeedback and interaction inputs , a research carried out for more than 15 years by the laboratory, which relates technology and affections .

Florense


At the Florense showroom, the exhibition aims to connect visitors with their own essence through a synesthetic and liberating experience, guided by sounds and aromas , in an ethereal environment, with acoustic, thermal and sound insulation. Where: 690 - Jardim America

The streets of Bixiga hold memories of a welcoming and generous São Paulo. That's why the connection between the neighborhood and the Feira na Rosenbaum , which will be held there during this year's DW!, was complete. The fair has always opened its doors for independent studios to showcase their work in an environment conducive to exchange and the creation of bonds. This time, it will be no different: in a renovated 800 m² building, the original pieces of 80 artisans, designers and artists will occupy two floors. In addition, the fair organized the exhibition ' Hands of Brazil - The Power of Creation' , curated by Cris Rosenbaum and Taissa Buescu . The exhibition brings together the manual production of representatives of the 27 Brazilian states and settings signed by Paulo Biacchi , Stephanie Ribeiro + José Carrari Filho and Zizi Carderari . Lider Interiors


On September 5th, from 10am to 2pm, Lider Interiores is launching VIBRA , Viva a Brasilidade, an exclusive collection inspired by the multiplicity and diversity of Brazilian homes. There are 13 items made for all rooms in the house , ranging from dressers the china cabinet, including a mini-bar, mirror, sideboard, dressing table, among others.

The project was signed by professionals André Bastos and Guilherme Ribeiro from Nada Se Leva, Brunno Jahara, Isabela Vecci, Giacomo Tomazzi and Mariana Betting and Roberto Hercowitz, from EmDOIS Design, who used different repertoires and points of view to print the many ways of if you live in an essentially Brazilian house. Design Refuge


In partnership with the Kuradoria 177 Project, Refúgio Design occupies the 7 de Abril Building , designed by the iconic Ramos de Azevedo & Severo Technical Office, and presents the Gabinete Sete Exhibition , from September 5th to 20th.

The intervention is based on the premise of enhancing the central area of São Paulo , a region that is home to important institutions dedicated to preserving cultural memory and heritage, such as the Museu da Língua Portuguesa, the Pinacoteca, the Theatro Municipal, among others. In addition to the tourist attractions, the center is home to buildings designed by masters of architecture , whose spaces have attracted art galleries, design studios, award-winning restaurants and bars.
