by Kamy has a long-standing partnership with DW! and has participated since the first edition with elaborate exhibitions. This year, the carpet brand presents the exhibition Design & Passions: Adriana Adam with the aim of revisiting and honoring the work of one of the professionals and Brazilian businesswomen more active in the affirmation of national authorial design. To illustrate the crucial moments in Adriana Adam's career, in chronological order, by Kamy developed an exclusive collection of pieces, including rugs and tapestries , in partnership with five designers from different backgrounds and training. “Unfortunately, many people are still unfamiliar with Adriana’s work and the importance of her contribution to Brazilian design. We want to not only pay tribute to someone who gave us so much, but mainly to immortalize Adriana’s legacy through our art of weaving.” , says Francesca Alzati, the brand’s identity director.

This year, during DW!, the Minas Gerais brand Lider Interiores is launching the Juntos collection , created to pay tribute to collectivity, a value that has become increasingly relevant in recent times, especially during the pandemic. To do this, it brought together Brunno Jahara, Isabela Vecci , FGMF, Estúdio Lider, Emdois Design and Suite Design to design the new pieces. Marketing Manager Renato Araújo explains that the JUNTOS collection was created from a base designed by several hands and talents and is made up of 12 exclusive pieces, which include sofas, coffee tables, poufs, bar pieces, as well as a buffet. “ Each item has a characteristic and innovative design and is designed for living, one of our biggest concerns here at the company”, he explains.

In this edition of DW!, the Rosenbaum Fair occupies the former warehouse of Galeria Fortes D´Aloia & Gabriel to showcase the Brazilian soul through support for independent designers, artists and artisans . Curated by Cris Rosenbaum, the fair acts as an agent catalyst for the circular and creative economy, in addition to promoting diversity and the natural and cultural riches of Brazil . There are more than 50 exhibitors in total and the fair also features artistic installations, live music and “fair food”, in a zero waste edition. This year, the event will pay tribute to designer and master carpenter Morito Ebine. with an exhibition of contemporary handmade furniture produced in his studio, in Santo Antônio do Pinhal, São Paulo. With the premise of sustainability, the furniture designed by Morito prioritizes respect for the raw materials provided by nature and is produced using ancient fitting techniques, which do not require nails or screws, for an aesthetic and structural result, in continuous beautification, over time and of handling.

Furniture Living

In the tenth edition of DW!, the Estar Móveis store presents the installation Há Quem Diga Que é Verdade , with art direction and curation by Felipe Morozini. In an immersive experience , Morozini proposes a reflection on our time and the unreal world of social networks, based on Plato's Myth of the Cave. It is an attempt to explain the condition of ignorance in which human beings live, imprisoned by the senses and the prejudices that prevent knowledge of the truth. The installation provides a journey into the interior of the cave, which translates as home, the refuge that brings comfort and protection. The cave brings shadows and brings peace. And, in this playful, affective and amorphous universe, people create their own realities. The exhibition features unique, hand-made, organic works. Creative artists Humberto da Mata, Camila D'Anunziata, Estúdio Palma, Nicole Tomazi + Sergio Cabral, Ian Diesendruck, Silvia Jábali and Josephine Cho will be participating in the event.

Michell Lott + Lola Muller

Michell Lott and Lola Muller are launching their first collection together, on display at Estúdio 503. The Jiboia line is made up of three rugs that pay homage to the snake and bring its curves into the spaces — coiled, in a hunting pose and in movement — without ever take it from nature. According to the designers, they wanted to embody humans' passion for animals, but also to avoid perpetuating the image of a skin lying on the ground. They wanted a living animal as a reference that would create an asymmetrical, organic and slightly abstract rug . Then, the figure of the boa constrictor emerged, this being that, for some native peoples of Brazil, is the cosmic serpent that brought life from the ethereal world to Earth – straight from the waters of the Rio Negro.

Colormix

The Colormix showroom has a Brazilian feel. With creative direction and art by director Arthur Grangeia, the brand created panels using tile and mosaic techniques, in a 100% manual work produced by artisans. The installation seeks to enhance the concept of Brazilianness, mixing our cultural roots with the inspiration of great artists. The hand-painted tile mural features Dom Casmurro and his love for his Capitu — a tribute to Machado de Assis —, reinterpretations with images of Christ, Arcos da Lapa, birds and emotions coming from the best we have in Brazil.

During this year's DW!, Breton announced that it is a Carbon Zero company in studies related to the year 2020. For the certification, studies showed that the brand offsets all carbon gas emissions from its processes, and can be considered the first company in the decoration segment, in São Paulo, to reach this level. Another new addition is the collection designed by designer Glória Coelho . In total, the preview of the collection features six pieces: two sofas from the Pitágoras line, another sofa and an armchair from the Arte line, the Aba dining table, and the side table called Cubo. Magical.
