Producer Pacto Filmes and curator Adelia Borges announce the premiere of the second season of the documentary series broadcast by the Curta! channel.

The second season of the documentary series "Designers do Brasil" on the Curta! Channel is back. Today, the first of 10 26-minute episodes premieres, covering the careers of some of the leading names in Brazilian design , in different specialties, as a way of outlining the diversity and multidisciplinarity of this field of activity.

The documentaries are executive produced by Malu Campos, curated by Adélia Borges, and directed by DJ Dolores and Pedro Gorski. The episodes will air every Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. In addition to showcasing great Brazilian creators , the proposal is also to discuss the contribution of the southern hemisphere to global culture. Current topics such as identity, industrial, artisanal and digital production, design for public spaces and sustainability are in focus.

September 12 - J. Cunha J. Cunha moves skillfully and originality between visual arts and design, expressing his African, indigenous and rural origins throughout his 60-year career. J. Cunha. He was the subject of a recent solo exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art of Bahia (MAM-BA), in Salvador, the city where he was born and lives. @j_cunha_oficial September 19 - Marcelo Rosenbaum Marcelo Rosenbaum, from São Paulo, sees design as a tool for social transformation. He created and leads the group A Gente Transforma – AGT, with which he travels the country on projects co-authored with indigenous, quilombola and peripheral communities. @mrosenbaum September 26 - Gringo Cardia From stage designs for shows to exhibition design, Gringo Cardia is a multimedia designer. Based in Rio de Janeiro, he uses interactive digital resources and at the same time has a close connection with popular cultures. @gringocardia October 3 - Marina Sheetikoff and Renata Meirelles Marina Sheetikoff and Renata Meirelles, both born in São Paulo, are representatives of the recent movement of renewal in contemporary jewelry. October 17 - Lino Villaventura Lino Villaventura has shown in his work spanning five decades that it is possible to express a true identity in fashion without resorting to exoticism or stereotypes. His style combines the influences of Belém, where he was born, with the manual tradition of Fortaleza, where he lives. @linovillaventura October 24th - Domingos Totora In Maria da Fé, a small town in the Serra da Mantiqueira, in Minas Gerais, Domingos Tótora transforms discarded cardboard boxes and the land's soil into furniture and objects with essential shapes, which reveal a deep connection with nature. @domingostotora October 31st - Heloisa Galvao A native of the state of Espírito Santo who lives in São Paulo, Heloisa Galvão works between art and design, creating delicate and subtle ceramic work. Interested in exploring the limits of matter, she has developed her own unique styles that bring beauty into everyday life. @estudioheloisagalvao November 7th - Questtonó From its headquarters in São Paulo and New York, Questtonó designs products, services, systems and experiences that are strongly marked by innovation. The guiding principle is the use of design as a strategy to build a better future for the planet. @questtono November 13th - Fernando Prado and Ana Neute Fernando Prado and Ana Neute explore the functionalities and poetic possibilities of lighting design. Each in their own way, with industrial or artisanal production, they design objects that are in tune with contemporary living. @fernandopradodesign @ananeute About the series Although Brazilian design has been gaining increasing international recognition, with several awards, knowledge about it is still incipient among the general public. The series " Designers of Brazil" reveals the creative universe of names at the forefront of national design and brings important points to the debate regarding the contribution that countries in the Southern Hemisphere can offer to global culture. More than just professionals showing their portfolios, the documentaries discuss issues such as cultural identity; coexistence of industrial, artisanal and digital production methods; design for public spaces; and sustainability beyond the stereotypes associated with the word. The programs have an educational component, sharing with the public the extent of the role of design in contemporary times. The first season, shown several times by Curta! and Arte 1 since 2017, featured the participation of Antonio Bernardo, Fred Gelli, Guto Índio da Costa, Guto Requena, Heloisa Crocco, Jacqueline Terpins, Ovo, Renato Imbroisi, Rico Lins and Ronaldo Fraga .
