Homeware collection inspired by fairy tales and retro culture
Between the watercolor brushstrokes on the ceramics and organic embroidery on the cotton lies the relationship between chef Carla Pernambuco and her daughter Julia Danesi , a visual artist. The new Westwing collection, developed by the company's designers in partnership with mother and daughter, features a complete line of homeware that conveys the delicacy of fairy tales and the presence of psychedelia in 47 pieces – from crockery to textiles, for the entire home.

Aprons, cushion covers, notebooks and cake stands were designed by Westwing Collection to cater to lovers of retro and cottagecore culture – who romanticize the concept of a simple and happy life. “Our challenge was to develop a line that would convey the feeling of nostalgia – not of the guests, but of many people who miss and want to bring home the comfort of the past, like a hug from grandma,” highlights Aline Rocha , head of Private Label at Westwing Brazil.
Iconic designs such as the Mexican heart, immortalized by Frida Kahlo ; the bears, a reference to the classic 'Goldilocks'; the mushrooms and the flowers have their origins in the playful universe and the representation of family in different cultures . “I am inspired by the surrealism of Magritte, Salvador Dali; the expressionism of Van Gogh, the delicacy of the colors of Monet and Berthe Morisot and several contemporary artists – Nathalie Lete, Tessa Perlow”, says the artist Julia Danesi, responsible for the illustrations of the collection.

Carla, in turn, has a personal collection of homewares that range from dish towels and aprons to art sculptures, crockery, utensils and a fantastic library, which houses contemporary writers, novelists from around the world and culinary publications in various languages and proposals. “ I am always connected to the world , I do a lot of research, I look for references everywhere; inspiration in books, magazines, artists, designers”, says the chef, celebrating her contribution to the collab .
