Miu Miu's literary club places the exchange of ideas at the center of MDW 2026

Milan Design Week added a surprising experience to its program. Miu Miu took advantage of the week to reinforce its investment in cultural experiences with the fourth edition of the Literary Club. Held from April 22 to 24, 2026 at the Circolo Filologico Milanese, the project is part of the Fuorisalone circuit by proposing a shift of design toward the field of critical thought, occupying one of the city's most traditional cultural institutions.

Under the theme Politics of Desire, the edition investigates sexuality, consent, and female autonomy through the works of Annie Ernaux and Ama Ata Aidoo. Conceived by Miuccia Prada, the club takes literature as a tool to discuss how desire crosses intimate and political dimensions, positioning itself as a space for reflection on identity and self-determination in the contemporary context.

The program unfolds into conversations, readings, and talks that connect theory and experience. Among the highlights, discussions on artificial intelligence and desire, led by theorist Olga Goriunova, and reflections on consent in the post-#MeToo landscape, with writer Katherine Angel, broaden the debate to urgent issues of the present.

In addition, for the first time, a library curated by philosopher Rosi Braidotti occupies the space, while the final day turns the building into a reading room open to the public — a proposal that reinforces the initiative’s collective and contemplative dimension, inspired by European literary salons.
