Off-screen and within the
home style universe,
Carolina Ferraz reinvented herself several times during the pandemic — she made a web series, launched a recipe book and opened a company called
Cimples in partnership with her daughter,
Valentina Cohen . The name Cimples translates what the mother and daughter duo wants to achieve with their products: "simplicity with a 'C' for Carolina", said the businesswoman and actress during an exclusive interview with
CASACOR . The brand's first launch was a collection that combines delicacy and simplicity. Inspired by
19th century Russian porcelain , the Valentina Line brings a very striking touch of Brazilianness.
All the floral prints used in the ceramic pieces are from
Brazilian species , such as orchids and tropical elements. "I developed the product thinking about something that I would like to consume and that I believed could please people," said Carolina Ferraz. "We looked for suppliers who accepted our ideas and were flexible enough to put them into practice", added Valentina Cohen.
Sophistication and simplicity
Inspired by Russian porcelain, the businesswomen said that their personal taste guided them to create a
sophisticated style, with a lot of delicacy and a romantic touch . For them, making something they would like to consume was an interesting way to serve an audience that is also passionate about tableware. .
According to Carolina, the desire to undertake a career in the decoration segment arose naturally as a
consequence of her passion for art, architecture and for welcoming friends and family into her home . The return of her daughter — who had been living abroad for 10 years — was the "push" "What was missing" for her to put her plans into practice. "Valentina is my partner, we really enjoy being together. She is extremely competent and organized and our relationship of trust is very good," she said.
Following the philosophy that
home is a sanctuary , the two wanted to develop a line of products that would increasingly encourage people to come together and share good experiences together.
Mix & Match
Another important feature of Cimples pieces is the
freedom to create your own combinations . The pieces are very harmonious and you can mix prints without fear — in fact, it is recommended.
Future plans
Cimples also plans to launch
four collections of tableware in 2022. The duo plans to launch cutting boards made from discarded marble, a clothing and
homewear collection and, in March, a line of personalized seasonings. "We want to launch products that cater to different social classes and at different prices, to suit everyone. We want anyone to be able to receive in style and
make it more democratic ," concluded Carolina.
