Between the 7th and 9th of June , a design event in Denmark, in the capital Copenhagen , brings together designers with the aim of exploring trends and reflecting on sustainable practices : 3daysofdesign. One of the featured exhibitions is called Three (" tree", translated into Portuguese) – which provides inspiration on how to use American hardwood in exclusive design pieces .

To exhibit, AHEC ( American Hardwood Export Council ) launched a challenge to three designers participating in the exhibition: to use three woods in their productions: red oak, cherry and maple . Designers Anne Brandhøj from Denmark, Pia Högman from Sweden and Anna Maria Øfstedal Eng from Norway were chosen for their affinity with natural materials and sustainable creations.
Pia Högman took on red oak and discovered that the wood has equally untapped potential as it was replaced by white oak . At Three, the designer displays a set of five chairs , each with a finish designed to highlight the covering. Arranged in a spectrum of colors, the chairs incorporate linear and curved panels, with details that highlight the long grains of the wood .

Designer Anne Brandhøj brings enigmatic wooden sculptures to the exhibition. She began to extract the raw material and test what would happen if she started to shape it before it dried, thus highlighting the imperfections, knots and cracks. 3daysofdesign, sustentabilidade, madeira Finally (and not least), Anna Maria Øfstedal created a trio of furniture objects that combine free-form geometries with linear volumes that the designer herself had never explored. When working with wood, she looked for tools that would help her create irregular contours .
