Some decoration trends pointed out in recent years are expected to remain strong in 2026. This doesn't mean you have to follow them blindly, but they can serve as a source of inspiration for new projects. In general, more colorful and voluminous compositions have been gaining traction and should make the projects even more beautiful and full of personality. Check out the main trends for 2026 below!

More is more

Maximalism remains a strong inspiration for interior projects but should take on a completely new meaning in the coming years. This style will not be a reference only in terms of color but mainly regarding feelings. The idea will be to maximize comfort with softness and coziness through soft textures, rounded shapes, thick rugs, and spaces that invite tranquility. It’s about transforming a house into a true sanctuary and consciously choosing comfort as the basis of decoration.

Generally used subtly in decoration with accessories or a feature wall, color will appear more frequently in furniture and take center stage in 2026. We will see sofas, chairs, and tables in vibrant tones, making the projects more personalized and cheerful. Imagine a mustard yellow sofa, a fuchsia pink chair, or mint green tones. Color will stop being a mere complement and become the starting point of projects.

Tile arrangements in the kitchen

Instead of printed coatings, a new trend is emerging, where the tiles themselves create patterns by combining colors and sizes. These different arrangements guarantee an eye-catching graphic look for the walls or even the kitchen countertops. You can also bet on contrasting color blocks, bold patterns, and striking grouts to bring even more personality to the decoration. The coatings can also cover a small area above the countertop or create a colorful border around the island, and the difference will already be remarkable.

Bathroom as a space for well-being

In recent years, the bathroom has gained even more importance in projects and research indicates that in 2026 this will be a space where we will spend even more time. This is because bathrooms have gained the status of oases and spaces for well-being. This behavioral trend will result in less sterile bathrooms that radiate more warmth. They will be places where you can truly linger and experience your own relaxation rituals. Imagine soft towels in a single color, wicker baskets for storage, a meditation bench, and tactile materials that evoke tranquility. Open-air showers, soaking tubs, and aromatic candles also help create a spa-like atmosphere, even in small spaces.

Straight lines give way to fluid and artisanal shapes in tableware, mirrors, tables, and vases that look like they were sculpted from clay. The idea is to think of your grandmother's tableware but with a new, almost inflated look. Organic shapes will dominate the production of furniture and objects, resulting in creative, playful environments with an artisanal and humorous touch.

The kitchen is set to gain even more personality with decorations that evoke the past. The central island plays a crucial role in this trend, but it receives a new look: airier, more relaxed, and often will appear with legs. Antique displays and shelves are also expected to be popular. This style is aligned with the trend of modern heirlooms, which combines minimalist elements with historical details. The contemporary touch ensures functionality while family pieces add charm and authenticity.

Large sofas, rounded shapes, and voluminous armchairs will dominate living rooms in 2026. These sturdy furniture pieces are ideal for relaxing but also ensure a strong presence in decoration. Combining a large sofa with elongated side tables or a low coffee table creates balance and keeps the projects airy.

Headboard as the protagonist in the bedroom

The headboard is undoubtedly the central element of the bedroom. Now the trend is to be bold with the headboard. It can be large, rounded, fun, and even occupy the entire wall. Think of designs that have lighting or even built-in nightstands, so that a single piece of furniture occupies the whole wall. The result is tranquility, harmony, and a luxurious look, even without major interventions. By playing with shapes and materials, the bedroom gains a touch of luxury hotel.
