Living room rugs: architects teach you how to elevate your decor with this piece

Rugs, key elements of decoration , are a confirmed presence at CASACOR shows. And this edition was no different: the pieces were featured in various environments , with a focus on living rooms . Thinking about the importance of this item, CASACOR's editorial team called on some of the architects from the cast to answer the question: how can rugs elevate the level of living room décor ? According to Cadé Marino, creator of Estúdio Brisa do Norte , a CASACOR Rio de Janeiro 2024 project, the texture of rugs can help create a feeling of coziness in a space . "It breaks the coldness of the floor, making the space more welcoming and inviting," explains the architect.

Paulo Andrade, who together with Rafael Andrade presented Casa Rosemberg at CASACOR Bahia 2024 , states that the right choice of rug size, material, colors and pattern of the piece is what makes it elevate the level of the environment. "The rug brings comfort, whether by highlighting the furniture or by delimiting the spaces ". In the project created for the Bahian show, the architects opted for a rectangular rug made of natural fiber, which delimits the entire living area. In Living Diálogos, designed by Fernanda and Bruna Milcent for the Bahian show, the rug chosen for the space was designed by the architects themselves. According to the professionals , the lines and textures of the piece allowed them to add a relaxed touch to a classic layout . "By overlapping different layers of patterns and textures that contrast subtly, we created a harmonious environment that highlights each element ," says Bruna.
