Suite in Parisian hotel honors French actress Isabelle Huppert

Located on the sixth floor of the Mandarin Oriental Lutetia, Paris and designed by the architect and designer Jean Michel Wilmotte, the Haute Couture by Isabelle Huppert suite unveils new pieces inspired by the refined couture spirit of the renowned French actress and by her love of literature. Like a Parisian apartment, with breathtaking views of the capital, the suite reflects Huppert’s style, combining the rigor of a masculine wardrobe with French glamour.

Among the literary works selected by Isabelle Huppert and placed throughout the suite are modernist and contemporary texts that explore introspection and society, as well as an emblematic French comedy: The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath; The Professor of Desire by Philip Roth; Memoirs of a Dutiful Daughter by Simone de Beauvoir; The Magic Mountain by Thomas Mann; and The Barber of Seville by Beaumarchais. Powerful, lucid voices, often in search of freedom, that echo the spirit of the actress herself.

The suite also presents new photographs by Eric Guillemain, a French portrait photographer known for a direct, essential style, without filters or artifice, in which emotion is the central element of the image. The images, which were made at the Lutetia and inside the suite itself, reveal an intimate and luminous Isabelle Huppert.

An eclectic playlist, curated by the actress, further enriches the experience. The songs tell stories of loves torn apart (Ne Me Quitte Pas by Jacques Brel, Wild Horses by The Rolling Stones), of inhabited solitude (L'Aigle Noir by Barbara and The Sound of Silence by Simon & Garfunkel), of sensuality (La Vie en Rose by Louis Armstrong and Misty by Ella Fitzgerald) and of strength (Somebody to Love by Queen and Feeling Good by Nina Simone). Operatic pieces such as O mio babbino caro by Giacomo Puccini and the virtuosic fury of Der Hölle Rache by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart coexist with luminous songs such as Here Comes The Sun by The Beatles and Nuages by Zaho de Sagazan. A soundtrack of intense voices, striking lyrics and great melodies.

A haute couture creation, the Balenciaga dress designed by Demna for Isabelle Huppert and worn at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival is on display in the living room, alongside furniture by Walter Knoll. Made from recycled denim, the bespoke ensemble, composed of a long skirt and a structured jacket, reveals a striking balance between boldness and elegance.

As a nod to her love of cinema, the suite offers the programming of the Christine Cinéma Club, appreciated by Isabelle Huppert, expanding the aesthetic experience across literature, music, fashion and film.
