The 50-year-old judge was already living with her student son in this
130 m² duplex penthouse in Niterói (RS), when she decided to call on architect Livia Amendola and engineer
Rômulo Campos , from the
Travessa Arquitetura office, to update and renovate the rooms that bothered her the most.
Without altering the layout of the property or replacing the existing coverings, the duo's project included the entire social area and the master
suite , as well as replacing the carpentry in the guest
bathroom and the son's bathroom. “Overall, the client wanted to have a sense of well-being and comfort at home, which had been lost over time. Furthermore, she gave us free rein to create,” says Livia.
The project follows a
contemporary style , without excesses and adornments. The decoration of the
room has a neutral and light base, in
shades of gray , with
touches of olive green , with a predominance of natural materials, such as
caramel leather, wood and fiber. In the master suite, everything is new, including the carpentry, entirely designed by the office, such as the rack below the TV, with rounded corners, satin white lacquer finish and drawers with wooden handles in a hollow.
In the office, in addition to the counter, the wallpaper, carpet and white linen curtain are also new. “Here, the only point of color is on the balcony, decorated with an armchair and a side table made of yellow nautical rope,” concludes Livia.
