Shanti Room brings balance of natural textures to CASACOR RJ
Shanti is a Hindu name for inner peace and tranquility. These concepts inspired the homonymous project designed by architect Bianca da Hora at CASACOR Rio de Janeiro 2019 . “The name couldn’t be more current,” comments Bianca, as its meaning refers to “part of what we seek in modern life: peace in body, spirit and mind.” The fluidity of the fabrics and the similarity of the colors create a minimalist atmosphere that prioritizes well-being. The cozy 30 m² living room features slatted wood as the main covering, warming the walls and giving them a natural look.

In terms of furniture, pieces by young Brazilian designers are valued, including the Louçaria coffee table by Humberto da Mata; the Bo armchair by Giácomo Tomazzi; the Lego sofa by Estudiobola and the Gunga swing by Paulo Alves. It is worth paying special attention to closing the windows, covered by an overlay of enveloping fabrics, which allows the light to flow.

Alongside the furniture, there are sensory decorative items, produced from natural fabrics and raw minerals — the highlight is the quartz crystal floor lamp, by Estudio Orth.
