In homes, businesses and commercial spaces, design pieces, furniture and works of art are usually the highlights of the decor. Coverings are commonly used as supporting elements and are thought of as complements to the whole.
However, professionals have increasingly invested in stones, wallpapers, tiles, wood and cement boards as the protagonists of their spaces. This happened twice at CASA COR Minas Gerais 2016 , in the spaces of Patrícia Hermanny and Carico.
In the Central Room , the architect needed to think of a way to cover the existing stone in the original house that was damaged, but should be preserved due to the historic character of the property.
The material chosen was Sequoia Brown marble, mined in a mine and sold by MG Mármores. “I was enchanted by the dry tones and the rhythmic movement of the veins. The project was developed based on this choice, which gave it a unique personality. into space”, says Patrícia.
The covering takes over the floor and walls and extends to the patio, integrating the exterior with the interior.
In the Couple's Closet , designed by Carico Dumont, the highlight is the Dekton Aura that covers walls and floors. The space is divided into two parts, one for him and one for her. The covering, at the same time, creates a corridor between the halves, it interconnects the environment.
Dekton contrasts with the other materials covering the wall. On the feminine side, the braided texture is a shade of brown, on the masculine side, the silver texture. Its light tone and unique veins create a sober, elegant and luxurious atmosphere.
