Our need to create and connect with the world around us manifests itself in many ways, such as in architecture and gastronomy. Although they may seem very different from each other, the two share significant characteristics in common: cultural expression and identity, as well as creativity and aesthetics. Designed by
ON Arquitetura , the
CUCAN Restaurant brings together these two arts in a unique experience for
CASACOR Brasília 2024 .
The 200 m² space is an ode to Brasília with concrete elements inspired by the city’s architecture,
tile panels that remind us of the unmistakable Athos Bulcão and the traditional cobogós and pilotis. “The focus of the project is to celebrate what is unique and familiar about Brasília’s culture. This is also reflected in the furniture and artwork signed by local designers and artists. In addition to pieces that were part of the Brasília Design Week collection,” says Luciana Canalli, architect and partner owner of ON. The fully open
kitchen , which is incorporated into the space, is one of the highlights. “People can sit facing the chef and watch him in action. The idea is for the
heart of the restaurant to become part of the architecture and bring movement , liveliness and become a live show,” says the professional.
The project's concept combines that of the CUCAN (Culinária Candanga) restaurant, designed by chef Simon Lau, to create an atmosphere that engages the senses and pays homage to Brasília. From the design to the menu, every detail reflects the harmony between
form and function, tradition and innovation , and transforms eating into a complete and immersive aesthetic experience.
