Guest Suite. Angela Leite Barbosa and Daniel Marques Mendes – CASACOR Rio de Janeiro 2021 (André Nazareth)
Paola Ribeiro's master bedroom brings femininity to its essence. All the artwork in the room is designed by women, making it a more delicate space. The neutral base is a classic. By combining beige tones with a wooden texture, it was possible to create an atmosphere of calm and elegance. The room was renovated and a small workspace was incorporated, with lots of shelves that make use of the original cabinets and a view of the gardens.
Overlooking the outside through a large window overlooking the garden, the Guest Suite beautifully incorporates palatial elements into the home's look. The minimalist furniture combined with the gradient walls that evoke ocean waves are yet another classic example of the contemporary design that architects Angela Leite Barbora and Daniel Marques Mendes wanted to bring.
A contrast between old and new is seen in the design through the moldings, flooring, doors and windows in carpentry. A clever wooden solution was to create a headboard designed to accommodate two double beds , for different guest configurations.
And is there space at the event for children's bedrooms? Of course! Proof of this is Júlia's Room , designed by Paula Neder in conjunction with Coletivo PN+ . The space was designed for a 7-year-old girl with all the solutions she needs integrated: a corner to study, a bed, shelves with toys and a lamp for reading.
The room has a playful atmosphere with cheerful elements that stimulate the little one's creativity . With almost no interventions in the original architectural aspects of the house, the project features natural materials and neutral tones.
