The shelves and bookcases go far beyond the function of organizing objects: they are protagonists in the way of composing memories, displaying affections, and balancing aesthetics and practicality in a space. At CASACOR MG 2025, which occupies PUC Lourdes until October 5th, different professionals reinterpreted these elements with unique perspectives, exploring materials, textures, and arrangements that reveal the power of woodworking in creating narratives.

Beth Nejm - Confraria. Project of CASACOR Minas Gerais 2025.

Beth Nejm - Confraria. From monumental structures to suspended and delicate solutions, the projects in this edition show that the way we position books, wines, artworks, and everyday objects can completely transform the atmosphere of a project. Here, we gathered seven proposals that illustrate how creative shelves and bookcases have become key pieces in compositions full of identity and sophistication.

Cynthia Silva – Origem Minas

Made from demolition wood, the bookcase of the project Origem Minas, by Cynthia Silva, brings together pieces that reference agro-industry and regional art. The project pays homage to the traditions of the state merging the concept of "mineiridade" with contemporary style, also with strong use of neutral colors and restoration of the original floor in pink peroba.

Maycon Altera – Silêncio Fértil

The curved bookcases are the main highlight of Silêncio Fértil, a project by Maycon Altera at CASACOR MG. Carefully selected, they shape the experience within the project thinking of it as an ecosystem that transforms according to the user’s needs. The decorative objects, present both on the shelves and the walls, reinforce the concept that "working is also reflecting, feeling, and imagining".

Gláucia Britto Piano Bar

The piano is the protagonist of this project, designed by Gláucia Britto, to celebrate encounters, good music, and the moments that truly matter. However, the mirrored bookcase also catches the eye. Its finishes contribute to the warm, welcoming, and yet sophisticated atmosphere of the space. The shelves feature everything from classic books to glass sculptures.

Dunia Zaidan Architecture - Living Room

Dunia Zaidan challenged the logic that associates neutrality with elegance by opting for bold colors and creative solutions in the Living Room at CASACOR MG 2025. Among the elements that color the project are the books positioned on suspended shelves that cover a large part of the main wall. They bring personality to the space, in addition to breaking with traditional bookcases and provoking the senses.

Beth Nejm – Confraria

In turn, Beth Nejm surprises by including a huge open bookcase near the dining room. The project Confraria was designed to host long dinners with friends especially for wine lovers! Right below the panel that reproduces the Fair of Peasants (1570), is the furniture that houses various books, wines, and even tableware.

Em Cena Architecture - Office

The project Office, by Em Cena Architecture, represents the "sanctuary" of a top executive, where care for mind and body is balanced. In contrast to the presence of gym equipment, there is the open bookcase with remnants of art and literature which inspire and reflect a life of purpose and refinement of the imaginary resident.

Manuela Senna - Living Raízes

Finally, Living Raízes, a project by Manuela Senna for CASACOR MG, is marked by organic shapes and textures that evoke memory and belonging. In this context, open bookcases were positioned at the end of the living room. With artworks distributed across the shelves, its structure in black metalwork represents a contrast with the stone wall and the plants that compose the space.
