A couple with two young children had been living in this
200 m² apartment in Lagoa (RJ) for some time when they decided to hire architect
Manoela Fleck to update the decoration of the
55 m² social area. “They asked for more color in the room, but they didn’t want to give up comfort or the feeling of a welcoming space,” she says, who led the renovation without changing the room’s layout.
As the architect and clients really like
natural textures – from
wood to
stone , including
cotton, linen, leather, clay and
natural fiber – they decided to preserve the
original wooden plank flooring and used 60% of the existing pieces that spoke to this proposal, such as the small sofa (which was reupholstered), the pair of armchairs and the dining table (which received a new paint job).
The
wallpaper with an aged gradient effect , replicated in the TV, living and dining areas, is a highlight in itself. “It not only stands out for its unusual texture and coloring, but also for integrating all spaces. It’s as if he embraced the three environments, visually unifying them”, he concludes.
