Amid organic curves, china cabinets and terrazzo floors, architects bet on emotion as the protagonist of spaces without ignoring contemporary automation traduzido por: OPENROUTER

There are memories of our childhood home that insist on revisiting us: the design of a tile, the texture of aged wood, or even the color of a cabinet capable of recalling grandma's kitchen. At CASACOR Goiás 2026, which this year proposes the theme "Mind and Heart", three projects stand out precisely for transforming these memories into spaces full of meaning — and for showing that technology and affection are not opposites, but allies in the art of living.
In the project signed by architect Isis Dallarmi, the gourmet kitchen ceases to be just the territory for food preparation and becomes a true Serene Refuge, as it was named. The bet is on curved and organic shapes, which, according to the professional, "allow the space to be perceived in a less rigid and more welcoming way, inviting people to experience the project in a free, fluid, and relaxed manner".

However, it is a specific object that steals the scene and synthesizes the concept of the space: the yellow china cabinet with checkered tile. "Its maximalist look, the composition of decorative objects, and its striking tone awaken affective memory and emotional connection, evoking the feeling of a space already lived or imagined at some point in childhood", explains Isis.
In the Serene Refuge, technology exists, but does not compete with emotion. It appears subtly, in the distributed music, in the state-of-the-art appliances, in the integrated lighting. However, it works as a support so that moments of togetherness flow with practicality, without stealing the scene from coziness.
The studio Lourenço Milaneze, in its fifth participation in the show, bets on a different strategy by deciding to tell a family story. The Casa 1961 project was not born from an aesthetic, but from a date: the year of foundation of Grupo Itapoan by Pedro Torminn Borges and Vera Lúcia Oliveira Borges.
Spanning 142 square meters, the space incorporates pieces from the couple's personal collection, artworks signed by Siron Franco and furniture by designers such as Jader Almeida and Maurício Arruda. "The project translates into architecture the passage of time and the construction of a legacy linked to design, the culture of living and the appreciation of human relationships," highlight the designers and creators of the project, Clécio Lourenço and Gervásio Milaneze.

On the ceiling of the social hall, a painting by regional artist Ruben Brito features the tsuru in flight, a bird that, in Japanese culture, symbolizes longevity and continuity. A poetic gesture that immediately sets the tone of the project: here, time is not erased, but celebrated.
Meanwhile, in the project created by architect Vanessa Figueiredo and named 'Alma da Casa,' the Mediterranean aesthetic invites you to stay. Neutral, earthy tones, ceramics and wood create an atmosphere that, according to the professional, differs from modern kitchens "which sometimes excessively prioritize the clean and technological image."

The great protagonist, however, lies beneath the visitor's feet. The shard floor was the material chosen by Vanessa to synthesize the concept of the show, Mind and Heart. "Its irregular layout, the tonal variations and the handcrafted appearance bring a lively aesthetic, far from industrial standardization. It is a material that evokes memory, refers to old houses, social spaces and time lived more calmly," she states.

Affective curiosities abound in the project: a frame holds an original tile rescued from an old house; the ceiling paneling was made with polypropylene baseboards in a creative solution; and the pet bath, inspired by the designer's own dog, Zeus, appears with a photo of the animal – a reminder that home is also a bond of love with all its residents, including the four-legged ones.
If there is a common thread among the three projects, it is the refusal to treat technology and emotional memory as opposites. Isis Dallarmi sums up the philosophy: "I believe that technology and design must work together to make everyday life easier, while architecture brings the poetry needed to transform simple moments into memorable experiences".
Vanessa Figueiredo went further and chose not to include integrated automation in her Mediterranean project. "The excess of contemporary commands would clash with the essence of our kitchen", she explains. The exception is the sound system, activated by tablet or cell phone, and the appliances handpicked and defined by the professional for their "visual robustness", which dialogues with the natural materials.
The result, in all three cases, is the same: spaces that welcome without notice, that awaken memories with nostalgia, even with technology. After all, for the creators of Casa 1961, "true luxury lies in the stories, the encounters and the bonds that cross generations".
