The bedroom is the most intimate space in the home, dedicated to rest, the restoration of energy, and connection with oneself. Within Feng Shui, a Chinese philosophy that seeks to balance projects through the circulation of chi (vital energy), this room should convey calm, safety, and stability.

However, some very common elements can interfere negatively with this harmony. Often, without realizing it, we accumulate objects or make decorative choices that generate restlessness, block energy, or undermine sleep quality. Therefore, knowing what to avoid in the bedroom is essential to create a lighter, more welcoming project. Below, see a few items that, according to Feng Shui, should not be present in the bedroom — and understand why.

Mirrors are powerful elements in Feng Shui, as they reflect and amplify the project's energy. In the bedroom, however, they should be used with caution. When positioned facing the bed, they can cause restlessness, impair sleep, and even create a feeling of being watched.

The recommendation is to avoid mirrors that directly reflect whoever is lying down. If removing them is not possible, an alternative is to cover them at night or reposition them to the sides or in more discreet places, such as inside the wardrobe.

Television, cell phone, computer, and other electronic devices are major villains when it comes to energy in the bedroom. Besides emitting light and constant stimuli, they are associated with agitation and information overload, which runs counter to the project's purpose of rest.

In Feng Shui, the ideal is to minimize the presence of these items in the bedroom. If eliminating them is not possible, be sure to switch them off completely before sleeping and avoid using them in the bed, creating a calmer atmosphere that favors relaxation.
Roberto Pamplona Jr Arquiteto - Ala do Casal. Clutter is one of the main energy blockers according to Feng Shui. Accumulated objects, scattered clothes, and overfilled furniture hinder the circulation of chi and can generate a feeling of fatigue and stagnation.
Keeping the bedroom organized is essential to promote well-being. Invest in storage solutions, let go of what you no longer use, and keep only what is necessary. A visually clean project directly contributes to a lighter mind.

Damaged items or those that no longer have a purpose carry an energy of stagnation and neglect. In the bedroom, this can directly affect the quality of rest and even the emotional state of the residents.

Feng Shui recommends repairing or discarding broken objects, especially those that are in plain sight. The same goes for pieces kept out of attachment but that no longer make sense in daily life. Refreshing the project is also a way to renew energy.

The bedroom should be a space of calm, and that includes the choice of colors and decorative elements. Very vibrant tones, such as deep red or neon hues, can generate agitation and hinder relaxation.

Likewise, artworks with very busy images or negative themes should also be avoided. Feng Shui suggests opting for soft colors, such as neutral, earthy, or pastel tones, as well as elements that convey serenity, like landscapes or organic forms.
