"A room to live, socialize, receive, toast, listen to music, read or write." This is how architect Juliana Pippi describes her space at CASACOR Santa Catarina 2017. The Pink and Charcoal Room is a 110 m² living room that It integrates a hall, living room, dining room, bar and toilet, all in shades of light pink and nude in contrast with black and graphite. However, this space has an unusual touch: Juliana created a character for her space and a narrative to be revealed through letters to journalists, suppliers and opinion makers. Actor, director and playwright Renato Turnes was in charge of writing these texts.

To tell this story, the architect paid special attention to the details that create the atmosphere of the room. The floor is made of natural American oak wood with a finish created exclusively for the show, the method of which involves a preliminary brushing step to receive a layer of high-resistance matte varnish, with the intention of maintaining the natural characteristics of the material. For the ceiling, he used natural TECA wood slats - Morada Eco - with a black background to give the effect of depth, and on the walls, he placed works by Tomie Ohtake, Carol Gay.

The lighting is mimicked in the structure. The Wall Paper with Merci paper was exhibited for the first time in Brazil, together with rare pieces that were unearthed: the molds of 20th century Portuguese machinery and the French hat rack in light satin wood "bois fruitier”. Other new products presented are signed by Patricia Anastassiadis for Artefacto. In addition, there is a blown glass vase by artist Jacqueline Terpins, the Rock'n Bowl collection by Santa Catarina designer Renata Mour, a floating sculpture by artist Nina Lima and an engraving. cherry blossoms by Monica Sartori, to complete the decoration.

Such attention to detail was intended to convey the soul of the creative, sensual and independent woman who lives in the room. The custom furniture, the panels with original graphics and the handmade tapestry add touches of uniqueness and show the personality of the female character, presented to the public as a woman who exchanges letters with a distant suitor. Juliana, who was inspired by Marisa Monte's album of the same name to design the living room, says she wants to “rescue small and pleasurable gestures of everyday life” and also offers an online environment to meet the project and its “owner” are better.

The Pink and Charcoal Room is more than just a space, it is the home of this characterful woman, with each of the objects present being a part of her story yet to be revealed. For this reason, it is a living place, which will change throughout the days of the exhibition according to the wishes of its “owner”. A delicate and exclusive experience at CASACOR Santa Catarina 2017 to enchant visitors with beautiful decoration and a narrative to discover.
