Irregular shapes and power define the essence of Living Ametista , designed by architect Michael Zanghelini for CASACOR|SC Itapema 2024. In his sixth participation in the show, Zanghelini presents a 90 m2 space that reflects sophistication and modernity, with amethyst as the central element. "It's a stone that I've liked and identified with for a long time. It brings intuition, protection and vitality, in addition to functioning as a filter for bad energies, transforming them into good vibrations", comments the architect.

The geology of amethyst , surrounded by basalt, offers an intriguing mix of brutality and delicacy, inspiring Zanghelini to create a space where brushed gray granite is the backdrop that surrounds every room. "The wall panels were designed to imitate geological formations, referring to something ancient, carrying the energy of the Earth's development and the purity of crystal," he explains. Known for its esoteric properties, this stone is seen as a symbol of spiritual transformation and wisdom . It is believed to help calm the mind and open the way for deep meditation, allowing a more intimate connection with the inner self and the universe. Its presence in the environment not only beautifies, but also raises the energy of the space, creating a place of peace and balance.

The use of large-scale coverings and heavy elements is balanced by a sophisticated and feminine proposal. "My intention was to combine these resources that I appreciate so much, creating a minimalist environment with extreme personality", says the architect. He highlights that the great challenge was to combine stones with a strong presence and minimalism . "I designed the floor and ceiling following shapes inspired by nature, with plates that fit together perfectly. The furniture and carpentry were developed to follow this same language, creating a mathematical harmony that brings subtlety to the space."

The curation of the decorative pieces ensures comfort and elegance to the space. The sofa is the star, accompanied by the Mole armchairs and the Girafa chair. "I personally choose all the works of art that are included in the project. I found a balance between maximalism, with the gigantic main work full of vibrant colors, and the minimalism of the pieces in neutral and soft tones. We can see this duality throughout the space", says Zanghelini.
The entrance hall is one of the highlights, with a lake in front of the dark wooden louvers , integrating nature into the space. Regarding the color palette, the main tones are gray and green, touched by the violet of the stones and chairs that accompany the dining table. "We designed a vase and included plants and fish to invite nature to be a part of it, making an allusion to our previous environment, the House in the Forest", comments the architect.

The balance achieved by the architect's choices is demonstrated in the focal points of the decoration, as was the case with the amethysts, which transformed and revitalized the space, enhancing it and bringing subtlety through the rusticity and beauty of this natural work of art.
