When architect
Mariana Monnerat was called to design the first home of a young couple, in partnership with
Tainá Binato , one of the biggest challenges was how to optimize the
117 m² of the property so that the clients could comfortably welcome friends and enjoy life together.
The
wood , sometimes painted white, sometimes in its natural state, contrasts with the travertine flooring (original to the property) and is the guiding thread of this project.
Wainscoting, panels that serve as a support for the TV and a large bookcase were designed with precision.
The
mashrabiya on the doors at the bottom of the bookcase allows the electronics to be ventilated. At the top, diagonal shelves add charm to the space and display items and fond memories of the residents.
Right at the entrance,
a square dining table was strategically placed against the wall with a sofa/bench that can even accommodate more than eight people. The
Emerald Green natural stone top adds a touch of sophistication to the space and contrasts with the irreverent
Gaya Pendant light .
"The living room had a built-in solid wood wardrobe that, although beautiful, did not match the couple's style. By removing the wardrobe, we were able to gain 40 cm in the living room, which made all the difference in the proposed layout," says Mariana. "The door that divided the social area from the private area did not work very well and was replaced by a door made of natural freijó wood panels, giving a sense of continuity to the space," she adds.
One of the highlights is the
versatile island sofa that connects the two living and TV areas and is connected to the two armchairs, creating a cozy living space. Also noteworthy are the works of art by
Alfredo Volpi, Irmãs Gelli and Kakati de Paiva . The LED lighting that runs along the entire perimeter of the
living room ceiling brings a feeling of warmth and comfort.
Another major change to the apartment was in the master
suite : where there used to be a large closet, a door to the hallway was added, transforming the space into an office. The room was therefore a little smaller, but it now has functional cabinetry.
On the balcony, a false wall houses a flower box at the front and a cabinet at the back to support the service area, air conditioning area and space for a clothesline. "We were able to make good use of the layout of the long balcony without losing the living space," concludes Mariana.
