The
Collector's Lounge is a beautiful and eclectic composition of styles. The project, designed by Andrea Pinto Coelho for
Janelas CASACOR, Minas Gerais edition, features antique pieces from the art studio Helô Franco, alongside contemporary pieces.
The past and the present mixed together
On paper, the mix of furniture from such different eras may seem atypical, but thanks to Andrea's skillful curation, which sought to break away from convention from the beginning, the result could not be better. The Lounge is perfectly cohesive and translates, with lots of personality, the ancient and memorialistic soul of the occupant.
Conceptually, the past and present are arranged spatially like a timeline. The visitor goes from the social area, with its Victorian chairs and dresser, to the laptop in the modern home office, with a metal bookcase in the background.
In the center, a small nod to temporal fusion appears in the form of two classic portraits transformed into pop works, through colorful graffiti-style interventions.
Functionality in difficult times
Composed of three environments - hall, living room and home office - the space has a flexible layout, that is, the arrangement of the furniture can change according to the will, need or taste of the occupant, since, because of the pandemic, it is considerably more time at home.
Also noteworthy is the presence of a washbasin, a historically recurring item that now takes on new meaning and usefulness in homes. The color palette is dominated by lighter earthy tones combined with touches of green, bringing tranquility.
