The resident of this
165 m² apartment in Leblon (RJ) is a businessman who loves traveling and hosting friends to watch football games, taste wine and play poker. The mission of architect
Roberta Nicolau – from the
CASACOR Rio cast – was to create a home that met the client's routine and had an urban feel. Soon,
the city of London served as the project's guiding thread .

The old
layout had four small
bedrooms , two service rooms and a modest living room. Roberta changed everything, creating two comfortable suites.

“With efficient use, we transformed one of the service rooms into a new pantry, which did not exist before. The other service room was maintained, but now serves as a storage and automation center”, says the architect.

The
home office was integrated into the living room through a sliding door and was also expanded to better accommodate meetings with friends.
One of the resident's main demands was to create a “
cigar corner ” in the living room, which includes a cozy leather armchair and a small table next to it. "This corner was designed to provide a relaxing area, with soft lighting, where he can enjoy a cigar in peace," he explains.

Design pieces such as the Mole armchair by
Sergio Rodrigues , the Box sofa and the side table with a glass top by
Jader Almeida , the Tetris sideboard by
Mula Preta , make an interesting contrast with the
bricks on the wall .

The
burnt cement that goes up to the ceiling and black details in the joinery present throughout the apartment harmonize with the light wood of the sliding doors and walls. "These elements give the house a sophisticated and urban charm", concludes Roberta.
