João Armentano reveals how to live well at Janelas CASACOR São Paulo

João Armentano took on the challenge of creating a window into new living with Pra Que Mais?, a mini loft that proved that it is possible to live well in an uncomplicated way, with only the essentials. The container, located in the Iguatemi Shopping Mall in São Paulo, It is part of the Janelas CASACOR exhibition and will be on display until December 8th. If now, more than ever, feeling good at home has become an imperative, for Armentano this trend was already taking over the worlds of architecture and decoration. “We were already moving towards a more practical housing, but the pandemic accelerated it this process”, he assesses. In a period in which the home has taken on new functions and has become more than just a place to rest, but also a place for work, celebrations, experiments and meetings, it is necessary for the décor to reflect its new capabilities and potential. To Therefore, the project with bedroom, dining room and living room was all integrated, using permeable dividers, such as the open bookcase, to delimit the areas, without completely closing the spaces. For the architect, the container is the perfect translation of the moment we live in and reflects the trends of new living. In the bedroom, the low bed is raised by a platform that seems to float. Highlights include works by Carlito Carvalhosa, Lucia Koch, Julio Le Parc and Vik Munis.
