Arthur Guimarães - Lounge Comandante Rolim Amaro, projeto da CASACOR São Paulo 2021. Many trends have emerged during the coronavirus pandemic, when people have had to develop a greater sensitivity and connection with their homes. Some habits have had to be rethought, such as having a drink after work at a local bar. It was in this context that the Home Bar or Bar at Home gained strength again as a space to relax in a more intimate way. Creating an environment to accommodate drinks and, at the same time, decorating the house in a sophisticated way has become popular among Brazilians. Sometimes in a beautiful arrangement of bottles on a shelf or in a cabinet with glass doors, sometimes on a tea trolley or in a stylish tray the Home Bar appears in several environments of CASACOR São Paulo. According to architect Arthur Guimarães "the impossibility of visiting places intended for consumption and social interaction, made people create alternatives in their homes. Over time , these spaces were gaining more and more prominence in the compositions".

What is a home bar?

A home bar is a space inside your home designed for drinking a variety of drinks directly from the comfort of your own resting place. The idea is to bring the experience of a bar to a more intimate space, while also being the perfect place to enjoy your own home. resident. From a small cart to hold drinks to a more elaborate bar with seating space and more sophisticated options for storing alcoholic beverages, it can be considered a Home Bar . According to Guimarães, "the space for creation depends a lot on the consumption habits of the residents. For those who are less eager, an exceptional tray can already be part of the bar." Below, check out 5 tips we have selected on how to set up a stylish Home Bar for your home!

1- Choose a social area

In addition to being environments designed for moments of relaxation, more relaxed, they are also perfect for inviting friends over and enjoying the experience.

2- Invest in a wine cellar

If you love good drinks, a smart idea that is worth the investment is to buy a wine cellar. They are perfect for keeping drinks at the ideal temperature, are economical and also look great as a decorative addition.

3- Bet on carts or bars

Using a cart is a smart way to store your drinks. There are several options available for sale (and at affordable prices) that fit well in any corner of your home and still provide a special charm. Another idea that goes along the same lines is to bet on smart carpentry items or multipurpose furniture, such as a rack that has bottle slots or a space for a wine cellar.

4- Lighting beyond aesthetics

"The composition of the bottles must be thought out in a harmonious way and it is essential to consider whether or not the drinks need to be air-conditioned to preserve their original characteristics", warns Guimarães.

5- Leave glasses and cups nearby

Practicality goes hand in hand with comfort, and that's why keeping the most important items in your Home Bar close by is essential. In addition to glasses and cups (which can be stored on the cart itself or on shelves at the top), it's important to keep other items nearby: a bag, a mug ... -corks, cocktail shakers, cutlery, among others. Remember: a Home Bar is a complete space, and therefore, it needs all items - or at least the main ones - to be easily accessible.
