Viewing homes as
spaces for relaxation and rest is a trend in architecture and interior design. More and more people are choosing to transform their
bathrooms into true spas , but in this project designed by architect
Letícia Nóbrega , the space was created in a different place.

Innovative and bold, the
duplex stands out for the presence of an item that is synonymous with relaxation
positioned in the living room: a hot tub .

In fact, the bathtub was already present in the original project, before the architect's renovation. However, one of the residents' biggest complaints was that the rooms were poorly lit, and the solution was
to integrate the spaces to bring the
lighting from the gourmet balcony into the living room .
A necessary improvement in the project to make it more durable and coherent was the
leveling of the floor and the incorporation of the retractable glass roof that helps
protect the hot tub from the elements , but keeps the outdoor spaces open on days with stable weather. “We managed to bring together everything that is most important for the family in one place: light, plants, views of the city and the gourmet area with a barbecue to welcome friends,” says the architect.

In the open garden, a striking jabuticaba tree evokes the
atmosphere of a backyard . In this area, the
furniture with a structure of nautical rope and weather-resistant fabric allows the satisfaction of direct contact with the outdoors and the durability of the pieces, even when exposed to the sun, wind and rain, and also brings you closer to nature through natural materials.

Returning to the
living room , the large
slatted panel where the TV was installed
mimics the doors that give access to the bathroom and kitchen . In the back, another knocked down wall contributed to the expansion of the space, incorporating depth and functionality.

The open,
industrial-style bookcase was made with rebar and wood in a design that created several niches for storing items and decorative objects. Along with the
lightness of the bookcase , the piece subtly
separated the dining room and also enclosed the TV set in the space.
