A young childless couple, who already lived together in another property and were about to get married, called on the
Ana Weege Arquitetura office – from
CASACOR São Paulo – to create a
250 m² home for entertaining, cooking, reading and enjoying good times. The property is in São Paulo and is rented, but the renovation was almost complete.
"The property had no plans! The last document found was from 1986. We changed the ceiling, completely removing the plaster in the living room. We also knocked down some walls, such as the one that divided the kitchen from the dining room, making the apartment more integrated and modern," explains the office.
Since the apartment had two important windows that were covered with plaster, the office redid the openings to provide more natural light. The client also chose not to completely renovate the master
bathroom , but wanted to remove the bathtub and improve the bathing space.
The loose furniture created a mix between new pieces and the tenant/client's collection. The office designed the carpentry for the
kitchen , bar and TV room.
The old blue telephone, left by the previous owner, was highlighted. The Roman travertine floor was kept, as was the marble on the countertops.
New curtains were also chosen, new lighting was installed, and the bathroom was completely renovated. The result is a contemporary project full of personality. "It's a mix of industrial and maximalist. Colors and lots of affection," says the office.
