Known for its hospitality, gastronomy and the most important historical, architectural, cultural and landscape heritage,
Minas Gerais hosts
CASACOR at the Palácio das Mangabeiras, in Belo Horizonte, opened in 1955 to be the official residence of the state governors. The exhibition, in its 27th edition, chose a location that stands out for its outdoor area of
over 12 thousand square meters , which concentrates most of the
50 environments . The initial project was designed by
Oscar Niemeyer with gardens planned by
Roberto Burle Marx . Color Specialist at AkzoNobel, whose
Coral brand supports and is once again a partner of the event, as it has been for the last seven years,
Priscila Perez points out the choices of colors and effects by the
70 professionals involved in this edition. “This year, a very evident in all CASACOR is the
use of textures on the walls . And in Minas it was no different. We see several environments with
textured walls , but we also find spaces with
artistic paintings – something that has become increasingly common in homes as well.
Hit in last year's Minas Gerais show, there are also several unique pieces with
earthy tones , which continue to be popular in decoration, but there is also space for other colors, such as blues”, comments Perez.

For example,
Café Uluru , by
Cristiane Zumpano , is one of the spaces that uses earth tones to create a cozy feel. The color of the moment there is
Terra de Fogo , with a Velvet effect.

Following this line of earthy tones, in
Living Sinestesia , by
Laura Baltazar , the tone of
Extremo Sul reigns inside and outside the environment. On the outside, the color stands out more with Coral's exclusive velvet effect. "The predominant orange tone It is
visually stimulating and invigorating , bringing comfort and welcome to our Private Infinity”, explains the professional.
Blue is also present in the Minas Gerais edition. In the
Concept Store , designed by
Tríade Arquitetas , the color
Olho Grego was applied with a Velvet effect. The environment was designed to be a point of art in nature, which connects natural elements with colors and trends of the design and architecture in a fluid and differentiated way. The various colors present in the environment refer to the basis of art, from which everything is created, as well as the nature in which the project is inserted, in the external area of the Palácio das Mangabeiras.
The walls were painted in the color
Ocean Mystery , including the plaster portico at the back of the room, framing the closets. The ceiling is in the shade
Soft Melody ,
the Color of the Year according to Color Futures, the trend study of AkzoNobel's colors and behavior. Here, it refers to the infinity of the daytime sky and serves as a backdrop to the flock of birds above the crib.
