Since the first edition of CASACOR Bolivia in 2013, architect Eduardo Baldelomar has been bringing the exuberance of Bolivian nature to his creations. In 2024, he returns to CASACOR São Paulo , the largest architecture, design and landscaping exhibition in the Americas, with a 54 m² space called Ceiba Camba , inspired by the symbolic tree of Bolivia.

The Ceiba Camba, with its striking flowers, is native to eastern Bolivia and has unique characteristics that make it stand out internationally. This national icon is present on the coat of arms of Santa Cruz de La Sierra, on the 20 Boliviano banknote and in several works of art and autumn cityscapes of the country.

The space designed by Baldelomar features an entrance portico with a large mural, complemented by another piece in the background. Both were designed by the architect and built in recycled ceramic mosaic by Andrés Fenix , a self-taught Bolivian artist and chemical engineer. The space stands out for its variety of colors, organic shapes and play of light.

Sustainability is a central element of the project, which seeks to preserve Latin American and global biomes. Baldelomar, also a professor of environmental design, placed the mosaic at the entrance to symbolize the Spanish craftsmanship that arrived in colonial America, reusing fragments of flooring and coverings. After the exhibition, the pieces will be donated to a Bolivian NGO dedicated to preserving biodiversity . Inside the optician’s shop, an articulated sofa occupies the central area to provide comfort, accompanied by two workstations in the background. “We want customers to feel as comfortable as they would in their own living rooms,” says Eduardo.

"The goal is to tell a story that highlights our cultural and natural diversity, connecting it to Brazil. We want to strengthen our presence at CASACOR , bringing the Bolivian legacy for appreciation, study, reinterpretation, preservation and sharing," explains Eduardo.
