Discover different ways to use colors in decoration!
Earthy, light, neutral , dark or vibrant tones : which color palette composition is your favorite? Regardless of the answer, the projects of CASACOR Rio de Janeiro , the Rio edition of the largest architecture and decoration exhibition in Latin America, present different ways of inserting and mixing colors in environments. Just enter the Artisan's Studio and you'll be struck by the bold use of color that architect Chicô Gouvêa makes. Designed for an artisan who is presenting part of his collection there, the space has multicolored walls : green, gray, red. The only thing you don't see there is white or beige as a support for works of art.

“Since I was young, I always heard that it was absurd to hang a painting on a wall that wasn’t white or beige. But today we see colors on the walls of some of the world’s greatest museums, such as the Musée d’Orsay, the Rijksmuseum and the National Gallery. I believe that when it comes to color, there are no restrictions, obligations or prohibitions. Color is affection ,” teaches the architect. And some seem to carry within themselves the very feeling of coziness. This is the case, for example, of the tone used by Natália Lemos on the walls of her Casa Raízes do Cerrado. The architect was inspired by the colors and shapes of the cerrado in Minas Gerais, where she grew up, to create the environment full of earthy tones and full of affective memories.

But CASACOR isn't just about strong tones. The 33rd edition of the Rio de Janeiro show features spaces that focus on more neutral tones such as beige and gray, such as Refúgio Urbano, a project by Fernando Lanner and Lúcia Gonçalves. The architects invested in a velvety effect on the surfaces .

The same tone was used by PKB Arquitetura on the walls and ceiling of its Casa Essência, but here the effect was burnt cement , which brings a more contemporary feel to the project.
