The trend goes beyond the incessant desire to fit in – and therefore, to understand yourself a little better through the eyes of others. The desire tofeel is defining in a society just emerging from a pandemic, at war, governed by the insipid experience of scrolling through social media. It is in this scenario that affective decoration is necessary: one that carries emotional value and awakens memories, rather than just being functional.
This is where the famous "cracks" come in, old magazines, photographs, travel souvenirs, objects from the past that have lost their value to society but retain a special meaning for the bearer. Affectionate decoration is often also associated with grandma's house – familiar, cozy, full of details that give the feeling of organized chaos. That infinity of objects may not make sense to you, but for their owner they are capable of evoking memories of happy moments just at first glance. The trend, of course, was not left out at CASACOR 2023 , where professionals not only brought ideas to display their affective decoration, but also had objects from their personal collection available to awaken the emotional side in visitors. Check it out in the gallery below!
