250 m² apartment in São Paulo presents a contemporary social environment, with a welcoming atmosphere, based on a neutral base, composed of
natural materials in similar tones, but with varied textures , such as floor and walls covered in light oak boards, the slatted wooden ceiling lining and natural stones, which also cover some walls in the living room and kitchen.
The residents, a couple in their 50s, also asked for a
light and cozy social area, with an integrated kitchen . With the renovation, the main change in the construction company's original plan was the demolition of the wall that separated the kitchen from the social area to integrate the spaces. “Instead of the wall, we installed sliding carpentry panels, which allow us to isolate or integrate the spaces, depending on the need,” says David.
“Although they have different textures, these coverings are interconnected, as the lath, the travertine grains and the wooden floor boards are aligned in the same direction”, explains the architect.
The kitchen open to the living room follows the same aesthetic language as the living room, highlighting the natural stone peninsula, with a diamond-shaped side and chamfered corners, and the graphite-colored cabinets.
In the loose pieces that make up the decoration, with the exception of the paintings, which came from the clients' old address, everything is new, with emphasis on the furniture from Italian brands.
