Solar and laid-back. This is the design of the apartment that Brazilian architect Andrea Chicharo has just created in Monte Estoril, in Portugal. The Rio native, who in recent years has worked between Rio, Lisbon, Miami and London, has been creating interior projects that mix her Brazilian roots with the beauty of European design and typical American practicality.

In the kitchen, another touch of Portuguese home , for sure. The tiles – which despite being new were created using the traditional artisanal technique of hand painting – are reminiscent of the famous panels typical of the country, although with a contemporary feel. White Corian cabinets and countertops complete the very clean environment.

In the master bedroom, which is connected to the balcony, the mix of textures brings a cozy air that the space so desperately needs: wallpaper imitating straw ; leather bed and very light fabric curtains. Another peculiarity of the space is the open bathroom . Delivered like this by the construction company, it was a request from the property owners to maintain the plan.
