The apartment of actress
Clara Moneke – who plays the character Caridade in the soap opera
No Rancho Fundo , on TV Globo – was designed by architect
Tom Castro , from the
CASACOR Rio cast, and is
140 m² in size with a panoramic view of Flamengo Beach, Sugarloaf Mountain and Aterro.
The project's main objective was to connect the surrounding nature with the light and cozy atmosphere inside the home.
The choice of a soft and neutral color palette was essential to create the desired atmosphere. “I wanted the energy of peace and sophistication, without losing the essence of home,” says the actress.
Natural elements such as stones, cotton, linen and leather were strategically chosen in the decoration to balance the interior of the apartment with the exterior.
“We tried to bring the city’s color palette into the property, which influenced the choice of materials and textures,” says Tom. “
The living room , for example, has a green rug and an organic coffee table, whose design is reminiscent of ocean waves ,” he adds.
The entrance of natural light is a strong point in the apartment, bringing lightness to the spaces. At night, the strategically positioned lamps give a cozy feeling.
The living room, dining room and balcony were integrated and designed to be the ideal space for entertaining friends and family – a priority for Clara. "
Using the same floor creates visual continuity, expanding the space ", says the architect.
One of the walls of the living room displays wooden masks inherited from Clara's family, which have great sentimental value to her. "These masks represent my ancestry and my history as a black woman, the daughter of a Brazilian woman and an African man. Incorporating elements that reinforce my identity is essential to keep the memory of my origins alive," she says.
One of the highlights of the project is the dressing room, which has a vanity and a large closet to organize the actress's bags, shoes and accessories, as well as awards she has won throughout her career. The lighting in the room was designed to be more powerful, with lights also in the mirror to meet Clara's needs when getting ready.
In the actress's
suite , the architect maintained the neutral color palette to give more emphasis to the large window, which becomes a frame for the city scenery.
