Have you noticed that in the season of
CASACOR 2025, the
ceilings have ceased to be mere supporting characters and have become protagonists in various projects? Professionals used creativity and applied unusual materials and colors to enhance this part of the
projects, which often went unnoticed. And next year, the trend is expected to remain strong. Referred to as
color capping, this trend of applying colors turns the
ceiling into a
vibrant focal point. In addition to adding a good dose of style, this resource is a good idea for those looking to update the
projects without major
renovations.
How to adopt color capping?
The ceiling is no longer treated as a neutral background, but as a
color point in the project, as if it were a fifth wall. The idea here is that instead of a single color on the
walls and white on the ceiling, you can choose
three shades from the same color family that gradually increase in intensity as the eyes look up. The result can be almost a soft
ombre.

First, choose a color family and then define a light, medium, and dark shade. Typically, you will use the lightest shade on larger wall surfaces, a medium shade as a frame under the ceiling, and the darkest shade on the ceiling itself. We know that colors produce different effects depending on lighting, so be sure to
test a sample on the wall in both daylight and nighttime light.
In which projects does it work best?
Colors can be quite versatile and create
varied atmospheres in
projects. In a small bedroom, for example, a darker ceiling can make the space cozier. This resource also works in
living rooms and dining rooms, as you can easily complement the decor with furniture and lighting. However, be careful when painting the ceiling in dark
projects. This is because very closed tones can seem somewhat oppressive, so opt for
soft colors. Now, get inspired by some
projects from CASACOR 2025 to make your home even cozier and full of personality in 2026!
Combine with patterns!
Wesley Lemos - Saleta d’Arte. Projeto da CASACOR Bahia 2025. (Denilson Machado/CASACOR)
Upon entering the
projects of architect
Wesley Lemos at
CASACOR Bahia, it is impossible not to look up. For the upper part of the walls, the professional chose a
floral wallpaper. For the ceiling, he opted for a
blue paint, which is a tone taken from the drawing. The project offers an innovative concept that combines digital art and sustainability, highlighting the beauty of Brazilian plants and the importance of ancestry.

Milcent Arquitetura - Estar Philco. Projeto da CASACOR Bahia 2025. (Camila Santos/CASACOR)
The architects from the Milcent Architecture office decided to create a colorful drawing on the ceiling of the projects they signed at CASACOR Bahia. The project unites memory and contemporaneity, where architecture serves as a stage for sensitive encounters between music, reading, art, and technology. With elements that tell the history of the space, such as the period flooring and the lattice, the projects are a collection of artistic expressions that spark conversations and inspire ideas. Andressa Mâtos Psicoarquitetura - Lavabo Terra e Sal. Projeto da CASACOR Bahia 2025. (Camila Santos/CASACOR)
Signed by
Andressa Mâtos, this washroom at
CASACOR Bahia combines permanence and movement, warmth and freshness, creating a sensory and poetic space. The walls and floor of terracotta burnt cement are reminiscent of the arid soil of the hinterland, while the
ceiling and blueish walls evoke the sea and popular Bahian architecture. The countertop, simple yet strong in its rusticity, is complemented by striking elements such as clay sculptures, cobogó in the shape of mandacaru, and nautical ropes.

OHMA - Escalada Brasileira. Projeto da CASACOR São Paulo 2025. (Maura Mello/CASACOR)
In the project by the
OHMA office for the
CASACOR São Paulo, the organic paths of the favelas guided the intervention in an internal staircase. It is a dynamic ascent divided into three stages – each with its own color palette – representing the beginning (earth tones), the crossing (burgundy, pinks, and reds), and the arrival (neutrals, blues, and greens). Notice how in this space, where reddish colors predominate, the
tone on tone creates a harmonious look with smooth transitions.
Yellow like the sun
Fábrica Arquitetura - Ana Maria Freire e Camilla Pereira - Atelier da Colecionadora. Projeto da CASACOR Pernambuco 2025. (Walter Dias/CASACOR)
From the
Fábrica Arquitetura office, this
project in
CASACOR Pernambuco translates into a gathering of memories of the fictional resident, permeated by peculiar tastes and, at times, extravagant. Although eccentric, it has an elegant and sophisticated soul, expressed by the contrast of the playful with the sober. The
warm color palette, leaning towards oranges, leads to the ceiling, which received an intense yellow.

Cacau Araújo - Loft do Bem-estar. Projeto da CASACOR Pernambuco 2025. (Walter Dias/CASACOR)
Signed by
Cacau Araújo, this loft at CASACOR Pernambuco is an invitation for reconnection. And the colors contribute to this atmosphere, with a ceiling painted with a earthy orange, combined with wooden panels. The textures complete the projects and the cozy atmosphere proposed by the professional. Vibrant touch
Boulevar Arquitetura - Galeria Erês. Projeto da CASACOR Santa Catarina | Florianópolis 2025. (Lio Simas/CASACOR)
This gallery, signed by the
Boulevard Architecture office at
CASACOR Santa Catarina | Florianópolis, emerges as a meeting place between the cultural identity of Santa Catarina and contemporary art. It invites visitors to slow down, feel, and contemplate, awakening the senses in an experience that unites memory and innovation. The
red ceiling comes as a surprise, helping to compose the inventive visual of the
projects.
