Whether in bedrooms, living rooms or even gardens, rugs create thermal comfort, coziness and, of course, add an extra touch to the décor of any space. At
CASACOR SP 2023 , professionals created new and exclusive models, used different materials – such as sustainable PET bottle threads – and created creative compositions to dress the floor. Check out some environments where rugs made all the difference below.
Ricardo Abreu - Coral House
Developed by architect
Ricardo Abreu in partnership with
Kamy Verde , the
Urbano collection portrays the chaotic and diverse urban scene of São Paulo, mixing colors, materials, textures and reliefs. The collection debuted at
CASACOR SP 2022 and, in this edition, features two new pieces, created exclusively for the 2023 show:
Paraisópolis and Tietê .
Juliana Cascaes - Living Brazilian Soul
The rug chosen to embrace the
Living Alma Brasileira environment, by
Juliana Cascaes , was
Layers 4 , created by
Menini Nicola for
Tapetah : almost 10 meters long by 7 meters wide, the piece is made in boucle.
Cilene Lupi - A home to press pause
In the living room, from the rug in the center, designed by
Cilene Lupi and developed by
Maiori Casa , a seat sprouts organically from the floor, evolving the premise of “sitting on the floor”. The piece is part of the new
Struttura collection, which is inspired by the tradition, quality, elegance and avant-garde of Italian weaving.
Isabella Nalon Architecture and Interiors - Refúgio Conexão
The porcelain floor is covered by a hand-woven rug made from PET bottle threads and jute, which has a soft touch. From
Ariadne , a
Via Star brand.
Leo Shehtman - Memoirs
Organic shapes are still in fashion and, when applied to rugs, they result in light and relaxed pieces, such as the
Nylon Design Sheh 1 , which covers the floor of the living room designed by
Léo Shehtman . The architect designed and chose the colors for this rug, custom-made by
Kamy , made entirely of nylon.
Cristiane Pepe, Maria Clara Marback and Ecatherina Brasileiro - Ares of the Earth
(André Mortatti / CASACOR)
Tapetah customized a
Splash 2 rug for the space of
Cristiane Pepe, Maria Clara Marback and Ecatherina Brasileiro , in the colors and shape desired by the architects. Made from bouclê fabric, the piece has a sublimated print and organic contour.
Carla Felippi - House in Mykonos | MYK
To compose the space,
Carla Felippi specified four units of a new product from
Maiori Casa – the
White Sand model, from the
Chunky collection. The term, which in Hindi means “strong”, highlights the characteristics of the product, which is made from recycled PET bottle fiber. The rug has dense, full-bodied threads that create a bold texture that blossoms underfoot, like a sweater.
Ricardo Caminada and Tota Hairstyle - Cabana Ri.To
(Henrique Padilha / CASACOR)
Made on a hand loom and with recycled PET threads, the
Boipeba rug by
Ariadne by Via Star , in ice color, adds simplicity and, at the same time, sophistication to the
RI.TO Cabin at CASACOR São Paulo 2023.
Anna Yuri and Jefferson Anthero - Danger Store
The
Tesouros do Brasil collection, of which the
Arara 3 BKV rug is a part, is a tribute to Brazilian nature, transmitted to textiles with the artistic sensitivity of designer
Paulo Alves and the expertise of
Kamy Verde . It has become a perfect finishing touch for the store designed by the duo
Anna Yuri and Jefferson Anthero : macaws, toucans, our rivers and native forests are interpreted by the artist through weaves of rug fragments, represented in a meticulous work of cutouts and fittings with sinuous curves.
Quintino Facci Architects - Home of the Soul
Among the pieces designed by the
Quintino Facci Arquitetos office exclusively for CASACOR SP 2023 is the organic rug produced by
Tapetah , which runs through all the environments, delimiting the areas and providing a smooth transition between them, making circulation more fluid and intuitive.
Ticiane Lima - (In)ternal Loft
For the rugs,
Ticiane Lima chose the
Beige model from
Maiori Casa's Mantra collection, which, as the symbolism explains, the repetition of a syllable, word or verse is intended to establish a contemplative state. Entirely handcrafted, the rugs feature geometric motifs with intentionally repetitive patterns and neutral colors.
Viganó Architecture - The - Bar Caracol
The
Itacaré rugs in the color Gelo and
Mystique in the color Aqua bring the organic essence and softness needed to complement this commercial environment. From
Via Star. Da Hora Architecture - Loft Vastu
The piece
Dhurie Paisagens , signed by the Italian
Lorenzo Morganti , combines the colors Off White and Mix Salvia with delicacy and creativity, adding comfort and softness to the space without failing to express its personality. From
By Kamy .
Vilaville Architecture - Horta Restaurant
The professionals chose two rugs from the
Rava collection, in the
Beige Stripes Casa model. Rava, in Sanskrit, means AIR, breathing and being outdoors, which inspired the creation of this collection of high-performance
Maiori Casa rugs for outdoor/indoor use.
Catê Poli and João Jadão - Paulista Viewpoint
(Evelyn Muller / CASACOR)
In this 150 m² garden, the
Catena Green Military rugs, woven with PVC threads on a hand loom, blend with the tones of nature. From
Ariadne by Via Star .
Caru Cunha, Nana Cunha and Silvia Camargo - Bookstore With Art
The scene of a lake with water lilies and lotus flowers was the inspiration for the trio formed by
Silvia Camargo, Caru and Nana Cunha for the partnership with
by Kamy Verde . Two independent rugs connect in a sensitive and powerful way, just like in nature.
Andressa Danielli and Vanessa Pasqual - Elemento Box Office
The beige
Bouclé rug from
Via Star is present at the
Elemento Ticket Office , designed by architects Andressa Danielli and Vanessa Pasqual, from
AD|VP Arquitetura .
