CASACOR SC 2018: transparency and sustainability at Casa Grigio

It is difficult to determine what is inside and what is outside in Casa Grigio , Cris Passing's space for CASACOR Santa Catarina 2018. More than 90% of the external walls are glass, allowing a true experience of integration with the surrounding nature. Using Using the Canadian wood frame construction technique, it was possible to build the entire residence in just 40 days and with very little waste. All the wood used is from reforestation, and one of the criteria for choosing the furniture was the presence of sustainability certification. Cris chose to work with a cleaner, more urban style that could remain timeless. To achieve this, gray and black colors are present on the ceiling, floor, and doors. However, natural tones appear in the furniture and in details, such as rustic sideboards and center mosaics made of tree trunks, with the aim of creating a welcoming atmosphere. The most daring part of the space, however, is the bathroom: the only walls facing the interior of the house are those that provide privacy to the toilet. The showers are integrated and open, as is the ceiling, made of glass and covered with branches and foliage. .
