At a decoration exhibition, it is common to be enchanted by experiments, often guided by technology. And we can see this at
CASACOR São Paulo 2024 , which has just opened at Conjunto Nacional. But, on the other hand, one characteristic stands out among the
75 projects that make up this year's circuit: most of them were designed based on
affective memories . Therefore, there is a strong feeling that we are visiting
houses inhabited by real residents . This year's theme, "
Giving the Present, the Now ," inspired the professionals to look for references in their own roots and to reflect on how our everyday decisions will impact future generations. During the tour, you may also identify with and end up getting emotional with the stories told by the professionals in the cast. In addition, you will certainly be inspired by ideas and possible solutions on how to bring more personality to decoration through emotional elements. Check out some of them below!
A kitchen to entertain
Cacau Ribeiro Interiores - Nosso Próprio Tempo. Projeto da CASACOR São Paulo 2024. (MCA Estúdio/CASACOR)
Known for creating cozy and welcoming environments, interior designer
Cacau Ribeiro designed a
120 m² loft where the eye can be lost in so many details. "The inhabitants of this place want to live surrounded by
good memories ", summarizes the professional. The kitchen is the room where this perception is strongest. A light wood shelf, configured with niches of various sizes, organizes the space and displays a collection of crockery and utensils.
Memories of a country house
Designed by architect
Gabriel Fernandes , this 120 m² house represents an encounter with
childhood memories .
In the country kitchen, a wood-burning stove, clay filter and other elements, such as kettles and aluminum molds, bottles and candy jars complete the affectionate atmosphere proposed by the professional . Memory shelf

Architect
Bruno Moraes pays personal tribute to his ancestry in the space he designed this year. In a setting that resonates with his own roots and family memories, he incorporated
heirlooms such as old radios, cameras and recorders. “These objects, loaded with meaning and nostalgia that complement the decoration of my space, tell a little about the
origins of my family and the formation of who I am today. With them, I want visitors to reflect on their own stories and connections with the past”, says the professional proudly.
Objects bring life
Architect
Carol Miluzzi was inspired by environments that tell stories through time. Framed by wallpaper that evokes the vastness of nature, furniture and objects from the
mining industry , mixed with other contemporary items, create a charming ambiance. Every detail was carefully thought out to provide a unique experience for visitors, so it is worth observing each one of them.
Cozy laundry room
A home's
laundry room certainly evokes fond memories in many people, who remember their mothers and grandmothers taking care of the household's clothes in their daily household routine. It was these memories that architect
Leticia Nannetti brought to a space that goes far beyond its practical purpose.
The
color blue has a special meaning in the kitchen created by the
Mandril Arquitetura office and appears in different materials and tones. The tone is present on one of the walls painted in a deep indigo and also in the tiles that cover the counter, in addition to being part of the 1970s tapestry by Luiz Carlos Albert, and in the brushstrokes of the table top covering. And the choice of this color has a special reason because it is directly linked to the
memories that the partners have of their respective grandmothers and, consequently, with their ancestry. While Bruno's grandmother always used the expression "everything blue" to say that she was well, Helena's grandmother covered her with a blue cloak to convey protection.
Retro charm
This year, architect
Marcelo Salum presented a space inspired by the subtlety of the
feminine , revealing the strength that resides in softness and delicacy. “Since I was little, I have always had a strong connection with women, with the strength of the feminine side of being, which may appear delicate, but in essence is extremely powerful. Women are the stronger sex. This space is a tribute to all women who often do not occupy their rightful place in this still very patriarchal world. A space that honors the feminine, the mother that lives within all of us,” he explains. In the bathroom, patterned tiles and cabinets and walls covered in blue MDF create a
retro- inspired décor that is in keeping with contemporary living.
Wall that inspires
Designed by interior designer
Paola Ribeiro , Casa Coral has a
welcoming atmosphere that embraces those who enter the space.
An expert in creating environments with this atmosphere, the professional worked with many
colors ,
patterns and
objects that will certainly stir the emotional memories of visitors, such as this green wall, decorated with several patterned plates. According to Paola, the project is an invitation to rescue memories of comfort, welcome and well-being that are intrinsically linked to items inherited from the family, combining them with current works of art.
Movie scenario
Entering the cabin designed by architect
Paulo Azevedo is like being transported directly to a movie set or a real home. Meticulously detailed, the ambiance features a mix of antique and contemporary
furniture , as well as everyday
objects ,
clothing ,
photos and other elements that reflect the biologist couple who served as inspiration for the professional. It is a weekend getaway that presents traditional
folk aesthetics in a modern way.
Details that enchant
According to architect
Renato Mendonça , the project he is responsible for this year connects the past, present and future. In the decoration, he combined contemporary elements with
historical pieces , revealing the appreciation of everything that was once present for someone, even if only for a moment, as shown in this corner of the house, which has a total area of
110 m².
