The translation of the Danish word Hygge is not easy, but the architects from the HB Interiores office found the key in simplicity at CASACOR Rio Grande do Sul 2019. It is happiness, peace and comfort, as well as the cultivation of life's small pleasures. Furthermore, represents free time for yourself and to share. It means seeing what is essential to enjoy the now. Camila Sanguiné, Heloisa Bocorny and Juliana Carvalho designed Hygge, a cozy living room that synthesizes these principles in 45 m². Flexible furniture and layout materialize, with simplicity and Brazilianness, this mix of feelings and sensations. The light that emanates and the materials with a natural touch are the center of attention. The light colors explore some of the most desired shades of the moment, such as burnt cement, carrot on the suede armchair and rose details.

The wooden floor and the natural-toned rug combine to create a cozy space, in addition to the woven curtains. Linen fabrics and cushions make the sofa super inviting. The modular piece embraces the entire space. The lightweight Orgasystem metal shelving unit displays plants, books, photographs, a lamp and other objects that are part of this particular universe. This is another modular item with a formal design that gives flexibility to the space.

Rustic natural stone was used on the walls. The paintings are by the artist Christus Nóbrega, whose works are part of major collections, such as the Cartier Foundation in Paris. The Virtus armchairs are by Emerson Borges.

In a Danish-inspired setting, a fireplace could not be missing. It was appropriately made of white quartzite. “The layout encourages activities related to feeling good: a conversation, relaxing and reading a good book or feeling the warmth of the fire”, comment the architects.
