A bar with a jabuticaba tree that evokes moments in the countryside, a loft that interprets the city as a living organism, a bathroom inspired by the womb of a pregnant woman and the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi. These projects are part of CASACOR Goiás 2023 , which has the theme “ Body & Home ”, and have in common different applications and combinations of MDF .

All of them used MDF from Guararapes , a supporter of the show and a national reference in the sector. “MDF allows for different applications , and the architects at CASACOR Goiás explored this versatility very well, using six patterns, four of which were launched this year”, explains Fernanda Moceri , Product Specification Coordinator at Guararapes. Next, check out the details of the three environments!

Bar Spotta, by Luisa Azevedo

The Spotta Bar, designed by architect Luísa Azevedo , was conceived to serve the exhibition's public in an inviting and engaging environment. The highlight of the project is the Curupixá Ripado MDF (Madeiras do Brasil line), a new product launched by Guararapes. The material is inspired by the exotic wood of the same name, typical of northern Brazil, and comes with a slat design.

“The MDF texture follows the same direction as the slats, providing realism and also saving time and material. We work with it applied directly to the walls, like panels,” explains the architect.

Urban Loft, by Douglas Santana, Mariana Hamer and Iara Miquelin

For Loft Urbano, architects Douglas Santana, Mariana Hamer and Iara Miquelin were inspired by the city as a living organism and extension of the body.

“We created an impressive panel in the dining room using MDF São Paulo , which allows for different interpretations. From afar, it looks like pebble , but when you look closely, it reveals the beauty of the most populous city in the country,” says the trio. The São Paulo pattern (Perspectivas line) was awarded the iF Design Award in 2022 , the most important design award in the world.

To bring well-being and comfort, the architects created a wooden ceiling in MDF Tauari Ripado (Madeiras do Brasil line), a new product from Guararapes. “Here, the covering, which already has a slatted appearance, was used together with a panel in Pedra Amazônia , creating an interesting combination of different textures and materials”, they detail.

In the bedroom, the walls were covered with the recently launched MDF Cinza Perfeito (Colors line), to bring more sobriety and contrast with the work of the artist from Goiás, Marcelo Solá. The same product was used on the kitchen furniture .

Bath, Body & Temple, by Isabela Cardoso, Letícia Rosa and Pedro Nunes

Isabela Cardoso, Letícia Rosa and Pedro Nunes designed the bathroom for visitors to the exhibition: the Banho Corpo & Templo project. The space reflects characteristics of the Japanese wabi-sabi philosophy, which values imperfection, organic and rudimentary forms , bringing the public closer to their natural state.

To achieve this, they used Amana MDF (Magma line) in the cabins, which is inspired by rock formations composed of minerals deposited over time. “This MDF, with its stone texture and design, provides different sensations of touch and visual appeal, creating a perfect combination in our environment,” explains the team.
